Background:
Aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases catalyze the aminoacylation of tRNA by their cognate amino acid. Because of their central role in linking amino acids with nucleotide triplets contained in tRNAs, aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases are thought to be among the first proteins that appeared in evolution. Two forms of tryptophanyl-tRNA synthetase exist, a cytoplasmic form, named WARS, and a mitochondrial form, named WARS2.

Other Names:
Tryptophan--tRNA ligase, mitochondrial, (Mt)TrpRS, Tryptophanyl-tRNA synthetase, TrpRS, WARS2

Target/Specificity:
The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody AP7586b was selected from the C-term region of human WARS2. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.

Gene Name: WARS2

Gene ID: 10352
Primary Accession: Q9UGM6
Format: Peptides are lyophilized in a solid powder format. Peptides can be reconstituted in solution using the appropriate buffer as needed.
