Background:
The WNT gene family consists of structurally related geneswhich encode secreted signaling proteins. These proteins have beenimplicated in oncogenesis and in several developmental processes, including regulation of cell fate and patterning duringembryogenesis. This gene is a member of the WNT gene family. Itcontains two transcript variants diverging at the 5' termini. Thesetwo variants are proposed to be the products of separate promotersand not to be splice variants from a single promoter. They aredifferentially expressed in normal tissues, one of which (variant2) is expressed at significant levels only in the pancreas, whereasanother one (variant 1) is expressed more ubiquitously with highestlevels in adult kidney, placenta, brain, heart, and spleen.
Other Names:
Protein Wnt-16, WNT16
Target/Specificity:
The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody AP13222b was selected from the C-term region of WNT16. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.
Gene Name: WNT16
Gene ID: 51384
Primary Accession: Q9UBV4
Format: Peptides are lyophilized in a solid powder format. Peptides can be reconstituted in solution using the appropriate buffer as needed.
