Background:
XPA is involved in DNA excision repair. It initiates repair by binding to damaged sites with various affinities, depending on the photoproduct and the transcriptional state of the region. This protein is required for UV-induced CHK1 phosphorylation and the recruitment of CEP164 to cyclobutane pyrimidine dimmers (CPD), sites of DNA damage after UV irradiation.

Other Names:
DNA repair protein complementing XP-A cells, Xeroderma pigmentosum group A-complementing protein, XPA, XPAC

Target/Specificity:
The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody AP8784b was selected from the C-term region of human XPA. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.

Gene Name: XPA

Gene ID: 7507
Primary Accession: P23025
Format: Peptides are lyophilized in a solid powder format. Peptides can be reconstituted in solution using the appropriate buffer as needed.
