Background:
This gene on the X chromosome is structurally similar to arelated gene on the Y chromosome. It encodes a member of thekrueppel C2H2-type zinc-finger protein family. The full-lengthprotein contains an acidic transcriptional activation domain (AD),a nuclear localization sequence (NLS) and a DNA binding domain(DBD) consisting of 13 C2H2-type zinc fingers. Studies in mouseembryonic and adult hematopoietic stem cells showed that this genewas required as a transcriptional regulator for self-renewal ofboth stem cell types, but it was dispensable for growth anddifferentiation of their progeny. Multiple alternatively splicedtranscript variants encoding different isoforms have beenidentified, but the full-length nature of some variants has notbeen determined.

Other Names:
Zinc finger X-chromosomal protein, ZFX

Target/Specificity:
The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody AP13564c was selected from the Center region of ZFX. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.

Gene Name: ZFX

Gene ID: 7543
Primary Accession: P17010
Format: Peptides are lyophilized in a solid powder format. Peptides can be reconstituted in solution using the appropriate buffer as needed.
