Protein Family: Proteoglycans, Receptors and Channels
Pathway and Disease: Cell Motility, Signaling Molecules and Interaction,
Description:
Perlecan is an extracellular matrix proteoglycan. It has a large core protein of 400-450 kDa and is often produced with heparan sulfate side chains. Perlecan is found in basement membranes where it contributes to the permeability characteristics, serves as a substrate for vascular cells and binds growth factors involved in vascular remodelling. This antibody is highly specific for perlecan. There is no evidence for cross-reactivity with other connective tissue proteins (vitronectin, fibronectin, elastin, collagen, laminin). This antibody reacts with bovine and human perlecan. Other species have not been tested. The epitope is located in the domain I (aa 1-195) of Perlecan.
Alternate Names: HSPG, PLC, Basement memebrane-specific heparan sulfate proteoglycan core protein [precursor], Perlecan
Application Notes: Product Cat. No. 250258 can be used in immunoprecipitation, ELISA and immunostaining of frozen PLP-fixed sections of bovine and human tissues. Product Cat. No. 250258 can be used in affinity chromatography to separate recombinant domain I from tissue culture fluid. E: 1: 8,000; WB: 1:100; IHC: 1:100
Accession No.: P98160
Antigen: Bovine corneal endothelial cells
Format: Each vial contains 0.2 mg IgG in 0.2 ml (1 mg/ml) of PBS pH7.4 with 0.09% sodium azide. Antibody was purified by Protein-A/G affinity chromatography.
Storage:
Store at 4°C. Product is guaranteed 6 months from the date of shipment.
