Description:
Urocortin II (UCN2) is a 38aa long endogenous peptide (mouse, rat) in the corticotrophin-releasing factor (CRF) family. UCN2 decreases food intake and delays gastric emptying activity. Urocortin II is a specific ligand for the corticotropin-releasing hormone receptor type 2 (CRHR2), therefore acts as the endogenous ligand for maintaining homeostasis after stress. Mouse UCN2 differs from rat UCN2 by 1 aa but can be used equally with rat animal models.
